Run 3/23/12

My runs are getting faster.

Indoor yard sale

On Saturday I signed up to sell Thirty One at an indoor yard sale. I didn't really sell any Thirty One products but I did find a few good deals. I got this book for 25 cents.
These were 50 cents. I am excited to use these for adding in my classroom.
These wall hangings were $4.
Here is my Thirty One display.
Cardinal's jacket for $2.
My favorite childhood book for 25 cents.
I didn't get this at the sale. I bought it off Amazon and I am looking forward to reading it. We also saw October baby this weekend. Makes you really think about how awful abortion is.

Running update

Mitch made a really yummy salad for dinner tonight. It had spinach, cheese, dried fruit, pecans, and raspberry poppy seed dressing. Not sure how many weight watcher points this is. I didn't track today because I had Chinese food for lunch so I figured I pretty much blew my points there.
I ran 3.1 miles today. That means I know I can  make it to the finish in the 5K on the 31st. lol Its good to know that I can finish it without dying. I just hope I am not the last person to finish the race.

Infertility

Kelly's Korner is doing a link up for those going through infertility. I am linking up because we are still going through infertility after almost 5 years. I originally started this blog as a way to deal with infertility and follow others going through it. It has been a great journey. I love reading stories of other infertiles when they finally become pregnant. Through this experience I have also found a passion for running and I love to read blog of runners.

Our infertility story is marked by mostly trying on our own. We have been to 2 doctors and had a little treatment with injectibles. I have PCOS and do not ovulate. I have been told that IVF is our best option but we are not ready to spend $15,000 on it. We are planning to do some treatments this summer so hopefully that will go well.

Through infertility my husband and I have found our way back to having a life with God. We regularly attend church and I find myself having a relationship with God. I am learning to let go of my anxiety and put my life in God's hands because he has a plan for us. We just have to trust him.

The title of this blog is We Are the Lucky Ones and I truly believe that we are lucky to have gone through this journey. We have had several opportunities to do things we couldn't have if we had children right away. We are in a great financial place and we feel good about the life we have made together.

Dessert 5 points

Ok I came up with this concoction on my own so I hope you like it. I started with the sugar free brownie mix. I dumped this into a resealable container so I can make individual servings. On to the recipe.. I took a tablespoon out of my silverware drawer and put 2 heaping spoonfuls into a ramekin cup. I then used a clean tablespoon to scoop out a heaping tablespoon of fat free Greek yogurt. Then you should stir it up. Add a few drops of water if it is too dry. Put in microwave for 1 minute.
top with light coolwhip and strawberries. Enjoy!!!

Weigh In 3-14-12

I had a kinda stressful day today and was craving some fast food or something not good for me. I had to go to walmart and I thought I would look through the freezer stuff and see if I could find anything somewhat healthy and yummy. I found this. I was 8 points the the meal and it really filled me up with the rice. I also drank a bottle of water on my way home to fill up my stomach. I feel pretty content right now. I am going to make a dessert here in a little bit.
I ran for 40 minutes today. I am not to pleased with my pace. Hopefully it is not right since I did part of my run inside. It was a beautiful day but I was getting awfully hot outside so I decided to run in the halls of the school. I should have done it out side but I figure it was better to run inside than have a heat stroke. I think it will take some time to get use to running in the warm weather. I had my weigh in today and I lost 2 pounds this week. Since I gained one last week we will say I really lost 1. Even though it is only one I am still pleased because am at the lowest I been able to get down to. I have lost 17 pounds since Christmas.

What's Going On

+

=  pretty good brownies. I suggest trying these. They are 4 weight watchers points per serving and taste like real brownies. You use yogurt to make them.
I couldn't resist this. I am so excited for baseball season. Go Cardinals.
I AM A DORK
I ran again today. It was hard. I think today was the warmest that I have ever run in. That will take some getting used to.

Smoothie

Wow 2 post in one day. I am on a roll. I have made some smoothies. This one included frozen strawberries, a can of pineapple, and 2 bananas. I divided it into 4 servings and then froze it. Oh my it was really good. I was really proud of my self for eating something so healthy until I realized the strawberries had sugar in them. FAIL

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Last week at school my TA and I dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2. It was so much fun. Our classroom is down by 1st and 2nd graders and they were all so excited to see us. We even got to read to some of the classes.

My running is going pretty well. On Friday March 2nd I ran for 30 minutes and I ran that long again today. It is really neat to push my self to run for that long. After both of these runs I continued to walk for 30 more minutes so that my workout time would equal 1 hour. Two months ago I could barely run for 1 minute.  I am also doing great at giving up soda. I have not had a soda since the start of Lent. I have only thought a few times that I wished I could have a Pepsi with something. Part of me wants to give up soda for good even after Lent is over. I will see how that goes. Since I am not drinking the soda I am drinking a lot more water. I feel very energized when I drink a lot of water. The only downside is that I have to pee every 20 minutes.

I am doing the workout class again this week. I am really excited about it. It seems to go really well with my running. Tomorrow is supposed to be really nice outside. Hope it is a good day.
