Dr. Phil

Oh my goodness did anyone watch Dr. Phil yesterday????  He had two couples on there that did a surrogate pregnancy. It has not gone well and both families lives have been ruined. You can read about the story Here
Let me know what you guys think. This is the kind of situation I fear if we ever have to use a surrogate or adopt.

Busy Sunday!!

You wouldn't think I would have gotten much accomplished today considering I slept in but I was busy. When I got up I decided to do the laundry and realized that we were almost out of laundry detergent so I decided to make some more. We started making our own laundry detergent a few months ago. It is really easy to make.

Laundry Detergent:
1/3 bar Fels Napta Soap
1/2 c. borax
1/2 c. washing soda (not baking soda)

Put 6 cups of water in a pot and turn it on med heat.
grate bar of soap and put in pot
let the soap melt into the water and then add the borax and washing soda
Make sure all ingredients are dissolved
Divide the solution into 5 different milk jugs (gallon) There will not be much in each.
Fill the gallons up the rest of the way with hot hot water.
Shake the jugs so it is all mixed up
Let the jugs sit for 24 hours and the liquid should form into a gel consistency.
Use 1/2 c. for each load of laundry

Then while cooking lunch I decided to make dishwasher detergent. I am not sure how it will turn out I just made up the recipe so I will let you know.

I then watched the Cardinals lose! Booo. No fun.
Finished the laundry.
Worked on one of my classes I am taking for the summer.
Now I am just sitting watching tv because Mitch's softball game got canceled.

Kinda a boring post but I mainly wanted to give you guys the recipe for the laundry detergent. Try it out and let me know what you think.

Summer School

Well two weeks off was not enough. We started summer school this week and it will go until July 1st. It is not too bad because in is only 4.5 hours a day for 4 days a week but I was getting really use to being off. Oh well gotta make some money for the treatments this summer. Mitch and I agreed that we would only spend what I make working summer school. On a more fun note I have some fun plans this summer. The school district I work for had someone come in selling packages to get really cheap tickets for decent seats to the St Louis Cardinal's baseball games so we are going to 6 games this summer and fall. I am most excited about the last game of the season. I am also going to Minneapolis for my sorority convention. I along with both of my sisters were in the same sorority in college. I was president and then my other sister was president and now my younger sister is president (did that make sense). I am also an advisor for the chapter so it should be a fun trip with my sisters. Hopefully we will also be taking a trip with my husbands brothers and their families to Destin in September. We are still trying to get the details figured out and I will have to take a week off work so I am not sure if it will be feasible but it is nice to have something fun to look forward to!

Also I am posing a link to the Clear Blue Easy Ovulation Predictor Kit that I just used. I really recommend using it. It is super easy and much cheaper to purchase on Amazon. I paid $50 for the 20 count at wal-greens and it is only $39.49 on Amazon.

I Need Miracle Grow!!!!

You know Miricle Grow, what you put on plants to make them grow??? I need some of that for my follicles. lol. Sorry bad joke. I guess I have gardening on my mind. My husband planted a garden this year and I made homemade pesto for dinner from items from the garden. Anyway back to the follicles. I went to the Dr today to have a follicle scan and my follicles did not grow. They are all under 1 cm. The nurse said that she could give be another shot but since we have not seen any growth it would be best to just cancel the cycle so that is what we did. The next cycle we will be doing Clomid and injections again. However I will do 5-7 days of injections rather than just 2. We will see how that goes. I am kinda stressing about the upcoming cycle because I will be out of town during the most important days of the cycle so we might have to put it off for a month.

That is all for now.

No growth

So far my Follicles have not grown at all after using the Clomid and Follistim. They gave me another injection of Follistim (150 iu) while I was there yesterday. I will go back on Manday and if there is no growth then we will cancel the cycle.

They said that the next cycle we will be more aggressive and do several days of the Follistim in a row.

Quick Update

I had my HSG yesterday. Aside from the unpleasantness of that it went very well. My tubes are not blocked and Dr says that my uterus looks good. Whoohooo!!! Good news finally. The procedure was not the worse thing I have ever experienced but it was uncomfortable and they had to do it twice because they did not get a good picture of the dye in my uterus before it ran out.

After my HSG I had an appointment to get my Follistim shot. I could have done it myself but they offered and I was in the building so they did it. Since the Follistim has to be refrigerated it stung going in and I have a little bruise. No big deal. For the rest of the day I felt pretty crappy from the procedure and the shot gave me hot flashes and nausea so that was added fun for the day. Today I felt alot better.

I have an ultra sound on Saturday so we will see how things are going.
